However, you may sometimes need to add custom DNS records manually — such as:
A records
CNAME records
TXT verification records
MX changes
Custom service configurations (e.g., hosting, tracking, verification)
InboxKit allows full DNS control directly within the dashboard.
How to Add Custom DNS Records in InboxKitFollow this simple step-by-step guide to add or edit DNS for any domain.
Step 1: Go to Domains → Click “More”Open the Domains section in the left sidebar
Find the domain you want to edit
Click the More button (
)
This opens the domain details panel.
Step 2: Open the DNS TabAt the top of the domain modal, select:
DNS
This section displays all current DNS records InboxKit manages for the domain.
You will see record types such as:
A
MX
TXT
CNAME
SPF
DKIM
DMARC
Step 3: Add a New DNS RecordClick + Add Record
A new row will appear where you can enter:
Type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.)
Name
Value
TTL
Priority (MX records only)
Proxy (if applicable)
Step 4: Save the RecordAfter entering your DNS details:
Click the tick ✓ icon on the right side
This saves and applies your DNS record to the domain.
If you made a mistake, click X to cancel the record.
Changes may take a few minutes to propagate globally.
Step 5: Edit or Delete Existing DNS RecordsFor any existing DNS record:
Click the pencil icon
to edit
Click the red X
to delete
This allows complete customization if you are configuring:
Custom hosting
Forwarding
Domain verification
Additional TXT records
Third-party services
Important NotesInboxKit automatically maintains required SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and MX records.
Removing these may affect deliverability.
Always ensure new DNS additions do not conflict with existing authentication records.
DNS edits may take 1–24 hours to fully propagate depending on the record type.
